2005 Paul Mathew TnT Vineyard Pinot Noir

Availability: Sold out.

The TNT 2 acre vineyard was planted in 1999 and 2000 with clones 114, 115, 667 and 777 on Riparia Gloire rootstock with Goldridge soil. This vineyard is on a south-facing slight slope in between the towns of Sebastopol & Occidental in the Green Valley sub region of Russian River.

Grapes were hand picked and sorted then destemmed into one-ton bins. The must was cold soaked for five days and then allowed to warm up and start fermentation. The bins are punched down four times daily until the wine was dry. Then the wine was pressed off into barrel and was allowed to go through Malolactic fermentation. It was then lightly sulphured and aged on the lees for ten months. The wine was carefully racked and bottled.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine has characteristics that include high toned fruit of red currant, raspberry and wild strawberry with watermelon on the nose and a touch of acidity. Bright cherry, wild strawberry with a hint of mushroom, sandalwood and ripe plum on the palette with a delicate finish. Ready now and will hold well for years.
