Vineyards

Horseshoe Bend Vineyard is located on Occidental Road and was planted in 1996 in goldridge / Sebastopol series soil from rootstock 1-114, Dijon clone 113 and Cordon pruned. The vineyard is on a south facing slope farmed and planted by the owners.

Winemaking

Harvested on Sept. 18, the grapes were in great shape. After 3 days of cold soak and 10 days of fermentation the wine finished dry. The native ml started slow and was finished Dec.14 after 75 days. The wine was bottled after 10 months in barrel with no filtration. One of the best vintages of Horseshoe Bend made to date.

Winemaker's Notes

Fruity characters characters of dark raspberry, plum and papaya with subtle floral notes. Nice mouth feel of similar solid fruit structured with a soft dusty note on the finish.
