Horseshoe Bend Vineyard is located on Occidental Road and was planted in 1996 in goldridge / Sebastopol series soil from rootstock 1-114, Dijon clone 113 and Cordon pruned. The vineyard is on a south facing slope farmed and planted by the owners.

Grapes were picked September 6th, cooled over night in cold storage and sorted, destammed the following day. The must was cold soaked and started to ferment on Sept. 14th and finished Sept. 26th. The must was pressed off in a basket press and put into barrel the next day. Malolactic fermentation finished on Jan. 14th, was lightly sulphured and racked just before bottling. The wine was aged in oak for 10 months and bottled unfiltered.

Winemaker's Notes

Intense fruit characters of red cherry with a touch of cocoa nibs, tobacco and earth. This wine opens up with lush textures from start to finish & layers of fruit. Hints of violets are present with predominant fruit notes.
